In our latest video tutorial, Ibarionex begins to share the thinking and the process behind building his new photographic website. Using Squarespace, he begins to walk you through his process for selecting, editing and organizing the images that eventually find a home on his site.

This is a work-in-progress and this series of videos as well as the blog postings at  will provide you a unique over-the-shoulder view of the editing process from one photographer's perspective.

TCF Google+ Hangout #1

I invited two of my friends and fellow street photographers, Dana Barsuhn and Valerie Jardin to join me in a Google+ Hangout where we talked about some of our favorite photographs and why we love street photography. It's an experiment for me, but something that I may do again. I look forward to hearing what you think.

Tessa & Bryce

Wow. We had loads of fun on this shoot as we explored a lot of small, random, magical spots. I definitely took way too many photos on this shoot. And I've got to give a huge shout-out to Tessa and Bryce for their love, smiles, sense of humour, sense for adventure, randomness and most of all, putting up with me during the summer's heat. It was so nice getting to know you, I hope you enjoy your happy-ever-after with each other.

Photography Classes

Hi there! So, I've been thinking about this a lot lately and finally decided to take action. I've come across a lot of people (young and old) who has an interest in DSLR (Digital Single-Lens Reflex). People who want to know what  all the buttons mean without having to do a 6months course in photography.

Well, I'll be happy to help. Mondays and Thursdays from 8am-6pm I'll be open to hourly sessions at my home, just outside Paarl, teaching photography for beginners.  I'll tell you all that you'll need to know about your DSLR. Showing you what different icons mean and about shutter speed, aperture, ISO and how it comes together and plays a role in each image that you take.

My schedule is very flexible, so if the days or hours don't work for you, email me so we can sort you out. This photography classes is open to anyone and we can talk about anything if there's more you'll like to know about photography. I'll be sure to have tea and biscuits ready for                                                                                                                each session.

So let me know what you think, I'll be happy to hear from you.

The Candid Frame #179 - Alison Turner

Alison Turner was born and raised in Southern California. She learned early on that freedom consisted of long family road trips in a wood paneled station wagon. After college graduation, she started her journey of climbing the corporate ladder thinking it would lead me to a better life.

Years passed by and I as she made it to the top steps of the ladder, she wasn’t fulfilled.  Instead, she felt trapped and uninspired.  She decided to give it all up to find her creative soul that was lost along the way. In order to do that, she packed up everything she needed in her car and began to wander across the United States looking for something.  What she found was a new appreciation of what is important in life.  Shy by nature, having a camera is her excuse to talk to strangers.  Because of meeting and talking to strangers, she has met the most interesting folks and has had the chance to do things all because of holding a camera, smiling and saying “hello.” You can discover more about Alison and her work by visiting her website and blog

Alison Turner recommends the work of Shelby Lee Adams

Ramfest CT'13

This year I attended my first Ramfest weekend. I wasn't looking forward to the long drive as the event moved to Riviersonderend this year, but it was totally worth it. I loved the location so much. Everyone got to make camp under the shelter of trees, lights were hanged in the trees so you could see where you were walking too at night and everything that you needed were always a short walking distance away.
Here are a few shots I took, but be sure to go to my Facebook page to see more photos.
Ramfest, you'll definitely be seeing me next year, thanks for giving us an unforgettable weekend.
